Data collected for a range of Industry Standard metal plugs Note that he physical properties of each sample e.g. Density, Poisson's Ratio, are all known. Longitudinal (P-wave) and Shear (S-wave) velocities have been accurately calculated for each metal using these properties.
Table 1 clearly shows that the ErgoTech calibration closely agrees (with a maximum error of 2.34%) with the Industry standard data. The Sonic Velocity values measured with the ErgoTech AVS equipment can, therefore, be used with a high degree of certainty. Most standards show a variation of ~1% relative to the published data. This data is taken from both Technisonic and Panametrics equipment manuals. Both companies are world renowned for building high quality Ultrasonic Transducer equipment.
